People generally don’t accept PIP they know the ratings were bad and obviously will be in PIP so they plan upfront to switch. By the time this PIP or immediate resignation with severance pay they accept severance pay and leave

If you resign but still do and clear your PiP you may be able to stay till your notice period ends. But if you fail PiP they won’t keep you till end of notice period
