Trending @Accenture; Accenture giving promotion to senior managers

My project DU lead got promoted to leadership with 20% hike and another person also got same promotion with 20% hike this percent is approx 25 lakh

Accenture is trying to waste their money on leadership in those 20% they could have given hikes to all ASE,SE , SSE. But they want to give hikes and promotion to leadership so bad and sad

They can’t give a 5% hike to someone earning only 7-8 LPA, but they can give a 20-25% hike with a promotion to someone earning more. Will this company survive with only managers? I tried hard to get my reportee promoted from SSE to TL, given all he had done over the past year, but they just gave him a 10% VP and said other people have contributed more. I really feel bad facing my reportees when I know the things happening in the team are so unfair.

You failed as people lead if you couldn’t convice HR and leadership. You failed to provide the steering committee solid reason that ur team memeber deserve promotion.
I dont get it why you feel it as unfair when they gave the reason that other people have contributed more. That is how Increment work. Please relinquish your people lead role. You are totally unfit for that role. You couldn’t fight for your team.

First of all, from your comment, it shows the real virtue of you. It appears you might not be familiar with how the capability model works within Accenture.

How do you say I failed and didn’t fight for my deserving team members? This is how the blame game works here. You don’t hesitate to put anyone down and easily blame others to show the world that you are correct. Career levels below 9 are often seen as less important, but these individuals contribute significantly to our projects. While senior people contribute to sales and drive profits, those at levels 7 and 8 handle the groundwork on estimations and decoding client requirements.

when someone brings up a real concern, it’s crucial to provide a solution or, if you’re unsure, to step back. Unfortunately, some leadership individuals at Accenture tend to guilt-trip others and blame them to safeguard their positions, often by taking credit for others’ work.

It seems you might be one of those who dump real talent to protect your own position. Long life to you in Accenture by dumping the real talents. By the way, the team member I fought for has already left the organization and didn’t accept the counteroffer. I’ve also submitted my resignation last Friday. Long life to you in Accenture.

Even the promotions in leadership is not for deserving;

It’s more of a family business, with the so-called long-term service history in Accenture. I am reporting to an SM with 12 years of experience, while I am still an AM with 14 years of experience. This SM I report to claims he gets less salary than me.

I feel like, with all the experience and effort I put into the project’s success, don’t I at least deserve this salary? I directly called for a one-on-one interview with MD or higher-level people to discuss in what way he deserves the SM role. He didn’t talk to me afterward and changed my reporting to another SM. It’s so toxic at the mid-senior and management levels.

You are indeed brave. Too much stress though, all that rage they cause.

I swear. Why so much hike at a senior level when the junior jokes are no where this close

I used think the same in initail years of my career. But then I got in the circle of the Big Boys and the world is totally different. The pressure I had while I was a junior or a TL is nothing compared to what I have now or what a SM or AD or an MD has. Their job is actually at stake if they dont perform.

At a junior level we think solving tickets, creating an automation or writting an optimized code is enough. The discussion and the metrics the senior folks have with the client is way beyond these. Client wants $ saved.

Long story short.

Promotions to Leadership happens when you bring in new business to the organisation. No one gets promoted to leadership without bringing in dollars. So 25 lakh is nothing compared to the money they bring to the organisation which is in crores mostly.

Hope it helps
