No.

I know my answer might get flagged heavily - I still shall have my opinion.

The Modi government might have been successful in many departments - from the Infrastructure push to a Diplomatic Aggression not seen since Indira Gandhi to the general rise in confidence of the masses regarding their nation. And I'm sure that NDA will win another term. However, I donot feel that this government should continue. Reasons are:

  1. As someone from South, I feel strangulated by the excessive push by the Central Government under NDA for Hindi at the behest of local languages. It is not fair to people coming from Dravidian (Southern Indian) or Indo-Burman (North East Indian) langauge families. English, Spanish, Hindi, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Bengali, Marathi, Odia, etc. are all part of the same Indo-European language family.

  2. States like Kerala, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, TN, Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc. who could reduce their population growth are going to be unfairly penalised by Government of India by reducing their relative representation in the Lok Sabha. Basically, ONLY UP and Bihar, with their underperformance, backwardness and corruption will start deciding what India needs and wants.

  3. As a devout Hindu, excessive religious propaganda and radicalism within the Hindu society has disappointed me no less. In many ways it is no different from the aggression of some Abrahamic religions.

INC is no better but one more term gives NDA unbridled power.

1- We need a common lingua franca besides English - no other language besides Hindi has that coverage. We need to help evolve a common identity.

2- That is nothing BJP specific. Infact even as someone from north I oppose it but then UP/Bihar hve more ppl and that's how democracy works. Even in US republicans win more counties and rural votes but be ause of blue big cities then end up losing.

3- At some point u have to fight aggression with aggression. Being docile for too long is a sign of weakness

1 - What makes you think that a Lingua Franca is needed? What makes you think that English is not enough? English is a neutral language for all of us. Not Hindi. It gives an unfair advantage to Indo-European language speakers. Today's India is a political construct. In most parts of our history, India while being a cultural civilisation was almost always a group of at least 5-6 different political units. As an example, my birthplace has nothing in common with Delhi apart from Hinduism and had nothing in common until 1947, historically. Let's accept India's unity in diversity rather than unity in uniformity. There are far too many examples of secession in India throughout history (Google Satavahana Dynasty, Vakatakas, Vijayanagara).

  1. Please read about the 1971 population control measures in India. US is a very different case where each state irrespective of size has a political representation of 1. In India, the states resorted to population control cannot be unfairly under-represented. The BJP government in the Centre has recently decided to go ahead with Delimitation based on new population figures. It has everything to do with it.

  2. Sure - nice try. Unwillingness to fight violently is not about being docile. It can also be a sign of strength and cultural upground. Again, please read about why Hinduism survived centuries of manslaughter and why even manslaughter had to come. Let's also read about Enlightenment in Europe and why Christianity became so potent.

There is a lot of learning in History. The most important being - learn to repeat or not repeat history.

Fastest growing major economy in a world slowing down, internal security largely fine, infrastructure push is real, fiscal policy prudent (unlike the inflation mess and NPA crisis post 2008) - yeah why not

Manubhai Mohan - minority have first right to country’s resources. Rahul Ji - 2 consecutive elections of not even able to reach Leader of opposition (10% of seats), yet we are to believe the guy has got serious organisational skills to run a country of 1.4bn. Mamata didi - Bengal model. Who else? Nitish? Uddhav?

While Modi's work is good in terms of Infra, Diplomatic Aggression and some other departments, but it has COME AT A HUGE COST TO INDIANS, DESTROYING DEMOCRACY !!!

The situation is like , I will give you food, bed and money but you shouldnt even raise your voice against me and my word is an order type attitude.

Congress and all is no better. They too do lot of bakchodi and corruption.

If you want BJP = Think only about listening to them and not other way round. They will throw piecemeals at us to keep us quiet. Modi is like an emperor. Anyone's below him. He's infallible is his own feeling.

Congress = Corrupted but fears people and doesnt have a control freak ideology. If theres public outrage they ll tend to mellow a bit.

A common person does not give a fuck about constitution and all he cares for is Roti, Kapda, Makkan, Naukri . Not his fault, but its the same constitution that held India together. The day Indians are well informed and understand the Constitution, they will understand the Gangrene spread by BJP !!!!

The damage done by dictators to India is far far far greater than few thousand crores of corruption by congress etc.

Moreover, Modi despite having 9 years under his belt, has not been able to solve structural problems of India like Education, Caste system, Job growth, R&D etc.

Last but not the least, if a Party or Person is more than 10 years in power. It is damn damn unhealthy for indiam democracy.

PM Kursi ka nasha hi alag hai. Sometime or the other checks and balances are needed !!!!

No.

  1. Systematic destruction of democratic institutions. I think half of the judiciary left with some independence, which might also go away soon.
  2. Flaring up of communal tensions. This is genie out of bottle. Very dangerous game.
  3. Pathetic understanding of the country's diversity. India is different cultures woven together and not juts Hindi belt/culture.
  4. Supremacist thinking - Promoting pseudo scientific practices and pseudo scientific historic claims just to claim supremacy over other cultures.
