Over the last few weeks, I went through an intense interview process for an SDE 2 role at Flipkart.
I cleared all the technical rounds, gave my best in each discussion, and received positive feedback throughout.
Each step brought me closer to an opportunity I was genuinely excited about.
However, despite successfully clearing all evaluations, I was informed that I would not be offered the role — simply because I was 2 months short of completing 2 years of work experience.
It’s extremely disheartening to see the entire journey come down to a technicality like this — where months matter more than skills, performance, or potential.
While the outcome was disappointing, I am proud of the effort I put in and everything I learned through the process.
I hope that in the future, companies will recognize that true growth cannot always be measured in exact months of experience.
