đź’” Got hit by the Zepto layoff.
No warning, no conversation, just a locked laptop and a cold layoff mail. That’s how years of effort, loyalty, and sleepless nights ended for 150+ people today morning.
I poured my heart into Zepto, 15-hour days, weekends gone, personal life sidelined. Barely spoke to my parents because work always came first. I believed I was building something meaningful, turns out, I was just another replaceable resource.
And the irony? Zepto isn’t struggling. With ₹7500+ crores in the bank, this wasn’t a layoff out of necessity, it was a decision made on a spreadsheet. Numbers over people. Business over loyalty. This wasn’t survival. It was a choice.
I truly regret giving my everything to a company that viewed the relationship as purely transactional. I gave my soul, they gave me an access revocation mail. Lesson learned: never value a company more than it values you.
I don’t regret working hard, but I do regret giving my complete trust and emotional energy to a place that saw it as purely transactional. That’s a mistake I won’t repeat again.
To everyone impacted, you’re not alone, and you deserved far better.

Abe tabhi socho mere zepto ke orders kyu late deliver ho rhe hai

Same comment everywhere??

Haha thodi toh sympathy dikha lo yaar ..be strong brother hardwork always pays offf

With you bro I am hit too in similar vein. 14/15 hr days, called back to office from holiday leave for festival peak, seen those 3am meetings for dark patterns too. We r all replaceable. Work only for money, emotions are for family and parents

I assume you have 1-2 years of exp and zepto is your first company. Else everyone knows that we all are replaceable and, this "family" things is drama, working your ass off won't save you in corporate. Take it as learning. Btw even I'm laid off

What is your next immediate plan then? Will you start applying or will you take a break and then start applying? How are you handling this situation?

I can refer in Cognizant , just dm me your email id and skills

The op might be getting salary which cognizant will pay in 5-10 years summed together

I was laid off literally weeks after saving the CTO's face (claimed something in the media that was not part of the planned release, so had to implement the delta in the 2 days remaining before release). Atleast my director found me the next gig.
But I understand your point. It totally breaks your trust that your hard work will be rewarded by providing stability to your life. Till then, I was playing the slow game; I didn't care about comp as long as I enjoyed the work and the team. Now, I just wanna earn as much possible in as little time, invest, and get out of here.

Pouring heart makes it hit the worst. Hope you find something better. Take time to refresh
