Barclays Pune – BGV delay & joining date push?

I wanted to check if anyone has faced a similar situation with the Barclays Pune hiring process.

My joining date was scheduled for this coming Monday. I received the offer letter about a month ago, and my background verification was initiated by the HireRight team at that time.

However, the Stage 1 screening in the onboarding portal is still showing as incomplete. After multiple follow-ups, HR informed me that the joining date may be pushed to next Monday due to this pending verification.

Is this kind of delay normal in the Barclays Pune onboarding process? Has anyone experienced BGV completion very close to the joining date or after the original DOJ?
