
9 hrs mandatory work from office
Any other projects received the same directive ? I think it was TCS who said first that by 2025, we will have 25% workforce working office only! What happened to that ? Also, some fools skip client calls or make pathetic excuses and skip work, because of them others are forced to come to office. I have seen people who completely rely on mobile data till now and would work as long as the day plan exists. Or bringing associates back to work is another strategy to get people to resign ? Maybe associates cannot cope up with the travel and hours spending in office and eventually quit? Thoughts ?

I work with VDI which I know more than 90% of Developer work too. Many client doesn't allow sign in through phone. And vdi is always unreliable especially during calls. I always have to login attend meeting which btw happens 7:30-8:00 or something cases 8:30 when everyone plans for dinner. I too face wifi issues and lan cable issues I've tried raising complaint so many times but they didn't bother to help out. It takes me an hour to come here and i get super tired either by bus or scooty. Half my energy is gone. I have to drink 3 cups of coffee to pump myself up. Or relax for like 30 min. Get in state of working. This makes me burnout. That what lead me d band in previous project. And now in PIP. I might have my last day on 17th sept. Cheers 🥂 to that

Good luck brother. These VDIs have f*****d up everything. Client side support team does not bother and TCS support is not responsible, Citrix and likewise other companies are making profits by selling these services. Do not worry, good things are waiting for you on the other side 🤞

I like to clear a few things here
- regarding 25% workforce WFH was told in Covid lockdown by a different CEO. CEO got changed and now this policy is scrapped. Same as like how Gov changes and policies changes
- 9 hrs Mandatory wfo was always there in policy. even before covid. So this is not a new policy. In general everyone has to work 9 hrs in the office
- The WFO index policy came in April 2024 where it mentioned the impact of wfo index on quarterly bonus, promotion and overall growth in TCS. TCS gave 1 year to everyone to plan and return to office without taking any extreme actions. From April 2025, all types of actions are being taken now.
- I agree TCS is not 100% right but there are a lot of employees who were taking advantage. Now the situation is like with those kinds of employees, good employees are also being punished and nothing much can be taken
- regarding the layoffs, this is the first time TCS is taking these extreme steps. There are many IT and Non-IT companies who has such kind of policies from start. Because TCS never did it, everyone assumed it will never happen. Company is not here for charity. They are here to make money. So they are taking all the actions which they feel and think for company growth. Only time will tell, whether they will succeed or fail.

All your points are acceptable. Layoffs are done unethically for hardworking employees also. There is no correct filtration process. Still many RTO defaulters are chilling around defying WFO and their job is safe in TCS. On the other hand, people maintaining RTO Compliance with hours both are still being kicked out. No integrated and quality of the processes maintained by RMG. Someone unluckily getting into Fluidity list with all sorts of other compliances parameters of the organization are also forced to see the exit door by the RMG.

Agreed. I am not against the WFO policy. There should be some flexibility. Pandemic has changed a lot, people have been traumatized by 2020 and there are changes in lifestyle. We cannot simply say it was normal before and should be the same now as well. Nope, you cannot bring back the people whose lives are lost, you cannot go back to the mental state pre 2020. Life has been disrupted and this is the new normal. Visiting the office, yes, it is mandatory and everyone should be able to come to the office and WFO. There needs to be a cap, an inclusive policy. If TCS wants to milk Tata's brand name, then it should remember that the brand is built on trust and with empathy.

Tcs ab MNC nhi school ho gaya hai, time se aao time se jao mat, ghar se bhi kaam karo and weekend pe bhi support do, or year end pe appraisal mai chillar lo.
Now don't join tcs if anyone have any other offer letter.

Thanking God does not help much. Having correct skills, connections and to keep hustling is way forward. Layoffs should not be used as a weapon to threaten the employees.

Totally agreeing with the point, i personally saw many of my team spending in malls, taking calls from mobile and not finishing work during work from home, for many the job is just a back up, some intentionally stayed on bench, some despite requesting to come to office ignored. The lash is out for all the hard working employees because of few people who took everything for granted.

True...no doubt there are a handful of people who are stubborn and take undue advantage.

If they are telling to come office then we should not have call after 8pm or late.they expect us to work in 1 pm to 10 pm shift and able to take call at 10pm

The pandemic condition was such that employees across the globe had obliged to work during odd hours. This was genuine and was the need of the hour. But the clients and the vendors are now taking advantage of the situation. Flexibility should be the new norm, strict measures are to be taken to educate fools in a team because of whom majority of associates are suffering.

This is a dual speak organization, who only thrive and makes profit by cheating on employees salaries/wages. They have just created a hype with Tata brand !

TCSers even if they get good feedback from the project after receiving 'D' banding in PIP assessment another way to fire kept open as a technical course assessment which is proctored for non technical associates in the name of skill up.
In a nutshell... It is now going downwards due to huge financial loss. When revenue earners are cut off from the company ecosystem means it's going downwards. The belief system is decayed. Everything is not financial in this World as long as flesh and blood rules the world.
