Give some logical numbers!
80k means daily they have fired 1700-1800 associates. Which is not true at all.
Do not post false information here HR's are monitoring grapevine.
How does 80K means they fired 1700 to 1800? 80K means 80k simple.
Think about the side effects of this action:
Brand Reputation? Employee Moral? Goverment Compliance? Operational Disruption?
The actual numbers are close to 6,000. You wouldn't see any difference in employee counts this quarter
Layoff is okay for any company but that should be planned with certain criteria which should be transparent. But tcs has made it completely ugly. Ppl working actively with good bands past has been included & shown exit which is unacceptable. If projects are not there associate is punished & leadership& sales team enjoying benefits.
Think another way, like if these numbers include the attrition also. What i think is, from each project 20% of associates are identified to be released. This is not fake. Anyone from tcs are aware. Even if we keep that release % at 5% for all practical calculations, this translates to overall 5% to org level across tcs. 5% of 6L is 30k. And more or less This number of employees definitely would have been impacted in one way or other. Maybe 60 to 70% of this 30k would have been already shown the door. And if we consider attrition of 13% for one year, then it will be 6.5%. If we consider, for practical purpose assuming 50% would have taken back resignations, 50% of 6.5% then it will be roughly 3.75%. So total of 3.75% of work force, like nearly 20k would have voluntarily left as well during this period. Whichever way we see total head count reduction across tcs in this quarter will be around 30k. It could be more. What ever is declared in quarter results will be only 12k. They won't announce more than this. Critics are welcome to contradict what i explained above.
