Check reddit r/legaladviceindia, they maybe able to guide you better. There's no such thing as mandatory notice period as per law, these companies just make their own rules to make our lives hard. You may be able to scare the HR team with a letter/email by a lawyer, that's the best option IMO. Don't pay the company anything unless it's for any damage/missing assets on your end
