50year bond by GoI?

Finance noob here. Apologies in advance for obvious statements. Can someone please explain in simple terms what this 50 year bond that’s going to be sold by GoI is? What is the use and how is it same/different from putting money in MF or SIP or even FD?

I went through the news just because of this. From what I understand these bonds are meant for institutional investors and foreign investors such as insurance companies and investment funds. Given the popularity of Indian bonds, GoI decided to introduce these long term bonds in addition to 30 years and 40 years tenure bonds. I am not sure if a common man can buy these directly though.
