50-50 coding and managerial role. Pls help

I am a technical lead. Recently I cleared an interview at a mid sized company. They interviewed me for a Engineering manager role. They asked 5-10% managerial questions and rest everything technical. Interviewer told it is 60% technical and 40% management. I am so confused and this looks like hell lot of stressful

What does it mean? How can a person do coding and managerial role at the same time? How this model works? Isn't it terribly exhausting? Do we get any work-life balance? Am I overthinking? How safe are this kind of roles in small and medium sized companies?

Plz respond. I really really need some help
