Not all govt jobs are made equal. A person cracking UPSC can make 44 lakh all cash in just a few weeks for work. Also consider that people who are considering other types of govt jobs like bank peon, govt teacher are not likely to crack FAANG level roles either. People try to do their best given their own skills and capabilities and nothing wrong if they do it with an obsession

Going by this influencers logic, cricketers and movie stars make 20-30cr+ annually so people should not be obsessed with MBAs or software engineering jobs

Agree... These influencers are like the item songs or fight scenes in movies. Devoid of logic.

WTF dude these influencers spread 44 lakh with 4 year stocks.
4 year stock is not 1 year CTC. By this logic TCS also pay fresher 36L CTC with 10 year vesting and no hikes considered

i block them wherever i go, i trash them whenever I stumble upon their content, i report them whenever I see their ads. we need a filter dedicated for blocking any and every kind of influencer. from godmen to motivational speaker to course peddlers.

There's a Remote India that still thinks Infosys and TCS are the biggest ever companies to exist. Microsoft has to work harder.

Once we get more capitalistic, I expect more red tape to come down and less of babu giri.

I don't understand one thing, why being kicked out at 44CTC is considered a devastating thing. I mean if you earn 44 CTC at Microsoft chances are you'd easily get hired by any product based start-up and yeah who gives a f*ck ? The guy mentioned that because it's not like that people like government job because the person is working for country or solving a national problem they like it because other than salary you have "additional perks" iykwim, so at the end of the day it becomes all about money.

Parents in remote India don't know what 44L means. They don't know what 44L will get them. When your entire pincode has been running after a Govt job for 4 generations, it's hard to think anything otherwise exists.

It's not like they don't know about MSFT pay. They very well know that there's a high cost involved in getting there plus the working hours are not lax either. Hence they choose govt jobs which need just a bachelor's in any field and some efforts in the entrance exam or connections within the system
