29lpa vp vs 25lpa fixed

Need some quick advice.

I’m comparing two offers and trying to understand the practical difference in in-hand salary and overall stability.

Option 1 – Service company • ₹27.5 LPA fixed + ₹1.5 LPA variable (total ~29 LPA) • Project-based work (depends on client allocation)

Option 2 – Odessa (product company) • ₹25 LPA fixed • 5 days WFO and rotational shifts (24×7 support environment)

I’m trying to understand:

  1. Roughly how much monthly in-hand would be for 27.5 fixed + 1.5 variable vs 25 fixed?
  2. Considering stability vs compensation, which option usually makes more sense long term?

Would appreciate insights from anyone who has compared service vs product roles with similar salary ranges.

I had faced a same situation. Service based (remote) company 28-30 LPA (verbal offer after clearing all rounds). Product based company 26 LPA(5days wfo) I declined the service based company due to the nature of work and culture. Joined a product based company even it is wfo and less pay for culture

the 27.5 fixed will give you roughly 15-17k more in-hand per month. that's the math. the real question is about the 24x7 shifts at odessa. a 4 lakh pay cut for your peace of mind is one thing, paying them to ruin your sleep schedule is another. you're choosing between a stable client project and a permanent support shift.

Very important to check the in hand component. Check www.in-hand.in for detailed differences
