26M - Requesting feedback on my monthly SIP mix
Hi all,
I’m 26, a first-generation investor, and trying to build a long-term structure that can eventually lead to generational wealth.
Current investment corpus: ₹13–14 lakh (approx)
Earlier my portfolio was very cluttered... multiple smallcases, multiple goal-based baskets, multiple ELSS funds, overlapping active funds, and duplicate exposure. I’ve spent the last few months simplifying everything into a cleaner structure.
Here’s my current monthly SIP breakup (excluding liquid & arbitrage funds):
Core Equity:
Parag Parikh Flexi Cap – ₹35,000 UTI Nifty 50 – ₹30,000
Satellite / Growth:
Motilal Oswal Nasdaq 100 – ₹10,000 Nippon Small Cap – ₹8,000
Tax-Optimized:
PPF – ₹5,000 NPS – ₹2,000 ELSS (PPFAS) – ₹6,000
Alternatives:
Gold ETF – ₹1,000 Silver ETF – ₹1,000 Mindspace REIT – ₹2,000
Separate from this: I’m building a ₹10 lakh emergency + opportunity fund (mix of liquid + arbitrage), but not counting it as part of the SIPs above.
Looking for feedback on:
- Is this equity mix appropriate for my age?
- Is the global (Nasdaq) exposure sized correctly?
- Any obvious overlaps or improvements?
- Any other suggestions which might be helpful?
Thanks in advance.

Inspiring Btw what is your net monthly income and what do you do for a living? How much work experience or time did it take to reach for ₹1L+ monthly SIP? Do you have side income also? @asliAK

Net In hand is 2L+ and I'm in IT. Salary is the only income source I have.
I started investing when I was 20. I started with an 2k SIP on Grow. It took me 5 years to learn, research and understand the investing. Now I'm investing 40-50% of my salary. I increased SIP from 50k to 1L this month only when I realised money is sitting idle in bank accounts resulting in taxes on interest earned.

Which platform r u using ? I am banker nd i can help u

Cool bro.. but In MFs parag parek flexi cap and any index fund will have more overlap.. it would be bettr to take one aggressive flexi cap with index fund.. as this is for long-term.. and also I am thinking to invest in small case .. what's your view on this?? And what do you think in MF vs Small case

I had 3-4 smallcases but as per my analysis. They just add complexity to the portfolio and don't offer much unless you subscribe for a goal or theme targeted bucket. I got rid of smallcases totally.

Although you haven't added too much in nps. But since you have already started doing it and there's a chance you would increase you allocation(in absolute terms) as you salary increases, I would encourage you to re-evaluate nps. When you factor in the two downsides. Money locked till 60 years of age, and the mandatory rule that 40% of corpus value you would have to put in an annuity scheme. The tax benefits on nps don't look as lucrative anymore. Do Re-evaluate.
