25 M - clueless | need help
Hi all, i am a 2023 btech graduate from a tier 1 college . I have joined wells Fargo as my first job ( on campus ) and now I feel i am totally not interested to work here.
The work is on ETL developement. For 1 year they asked me to work on informatica ( which nobody uses these days) . Then I asked my manager to change ,I got shifted to a team which writes SQL queries for etl logic . It works underlying on spark but we don't interact with spark directly. There is an internal framework that calls spark APIs, we just need to write the sql logic for the source and target columns. Initially I had some curiosity and passion ,but now I am not a fresher anymore and know the importance of such skill in today's market
It's little more than 2 years in this role , and I have come at a point in life where I feel i haven't done enough . I wish I would have gotten in a better company / role if I have applied for off campus after joining . Its not that I didn't give enough to my current role , i took 1 or 2 complex projects and delivered them in time during my 2nd year after changing team . I just wish I had put my effort in some other tech
I see my peers working in backend api development. In college I used to out perform them in coding . I have solved around 800 leetcode question in college .But here we are they are getting promoted and working on real coding stuff and I feel desperate.
I want to change my domain now ... I am confused whether I should go in data engineering or spring boot or ai development.
**I just want to learn something fast and make a switch **
Am I too late ... If I sit for interview I don't even have a good project to show in both domains ?
Please the tech folks out here I need some help

Yoe ?

Little more than 2 yrs

You are not late, you can switch. What's stopping you

Connect with some of your batchmates, who have done some good projects, ask end to end about it, and mention the same during the interview, nobody cares what you have done or not, as long as you are confident and have good clarity
