22, and feel lagging behind

I know I’m just 22, and it’s still considered a very young age for many. I graduated from Journalism and Media Studies last year, and it’s the most regretted degree in the world, and which i regret too. And what’s worse - I did it in a private college which costed my parents a lot for poor ROI. I’m very slekptical of not doing masters, because I don’t have great marks in school for top colleges and don’t want to again end up in a wrong private university. Neither I can afford a foreign masters given the global crisis.

I have tried to change myself many times - reading books, meditation, networking, online courses - but always end up failing to maintain consistency. I sometimes question do I want to be in media field.

My friends and cousins are much smarter and in better positions, got placed with good CTCs and top MNCs. Even people in my journalism batch who barely studied and attended classes are earning much better.

After graduating, I did 2 internships in video production and after a year, I got a job in an agency in Bangalore for 21k a month.

I come from an upper middle class family, and my family network is people on same class or richer - with their kids doing really well in life. It really feels embarrassing that I’m a media graduate who is struggling. Even peoples face changes immediately after I say I work in media.

Well, at least you got a job at 22—that’s something to be proud of. There are so many people, even in IT and other fields, who are still struggling to find a job. I've seen people who landed their first job or internship at 25 or even later. So just remember, you're not falling behind. Everyone has their own timeline, and it's okay to grow at your own pace.
