20 yr old legacy Migration project - java, database. Any tips or advice.

Joined this company recently. The project which I have been alloted is a 20 year legacy and task is to migrate to AWS rds and all with ofcourse all the code also . Project so huge they told it might take 2-3 years. So anyone has experience in such things, is it too difficult ? Any tips or advice. No experience of migration..
