20 of us could’ve had the opportunity to work remote for a US company but 1 dude messed it up
I work for a small company in the US, 2 years ago my boss hired our first offshore FT remote employee - from India for $2k/month.
In no time he realized the guy was working 2 jobs and not doing justice to the opportunity and replaced him with a smart loyal guy from another LCOL south Asian country.
He gained my boss’s trust and turned out exceptional.
Fast forward today, we have 20+ FT remote employees from the that country making $1.5-2k monthly in various tech and non tech roles - everything from ops, internal tool dev, CX, supply chain etc. And my boss is now committed to only hiring from that country.
I really wish it’s could’ve been 20 Indians instead.
Is it our ethics and the lack of discipline preventing us from grabbing these opportunities?
I would love your thoughts.
