10 hours work day mandate by States

Many state governments are now introducing a mandate that IT employees can work 10 hours a day. Why is this rule being introduced now? Why is this rule not applicable for State government/central government employees?

Why no rule about yearly salary hikes or minimum pay scale for IT employees?

i suspect a probable quid pro quo. Government wanted companies to stop the WFH options. They wanted them back in the offices. So, now companies want extended work hours for agreeing to come back to offices.

Different point of view and this is highly probable. Employees are at loss and they are already working for long hours which now becomes official

I don't think companies would align with government mandates. But overall, it's getting worse and worse... Not just in Kuntrataka, but other states as well...
Nobody monitors the ppl that go in the govt.

Companies might not align with the Government but companies will use it to their advantage. For example Accenture has long working hours than other organisations
