1 year into job, what to do next?
Recently, I've completed 1 year into my role and my CTC is 16LPA. The company is a startup, and I've got ESOPs which are included in CTC.
It has been an year, and I'm thinking of making a switch. But still can't decide whether I should bet on ESOPs and stay, or get a higher pay and switch?
The company culture is pretty good, and it's a remote role, plus not much work load. :)
But apparently, I'm worried if everyone else is making a switching companies with a 50% raise, why should I stick with 10% appraisal at a single company?
Would love to hear your thoughts.

Here are some of the things you can consider :
- At 1yrs of exp, you may not get that much hike while switching.
- Chances of getting remote is very low, and wlb has become worse in general for most companies.
- In the new company, you might have to work 12-14hrs a day and 6-7 days a week. What will you do with the extra money if you don't have time to spend them?
- Why not enjoy your life, travel places and pursue hobbies when you have the opportunity?
I agree money is very important, but so are the other aspects of life. Maybe after a yr or so, you can make a switch to a senior role.

For example, I regret that instead of focusing too much on my career, I could have focused on finding a life-partner.
What's the use of having money if there's no one to enjoy life with? 🥲
Plus, after a couple of years, you will get joining bonuses equal to the extra salary that you could have made now.

I agree, but isn't glass always greener on the other side? There might be someone similar to your experience regretting his/her decision to not chose career earlier in their lives. I mean it's all about personal preferences, right?

Don't switch. Give it another year.
You may switch now, but you'll miss out on the good culture (80% probability) Sure - lookout for the right opportunity, but don't do it in haste because others are

I equally have interest in starting something of my own, but not sure if should I pursue it as a side thing, or take it to mainstream?
