1 pager or 2 pager resume?
Hi all, I wanted to know what is the current norm in the industry when it comes to resume- is 1 pager the best or can one use a 2 pager resume if they genuinely have points to fill 2 pages? I am a product manager right now with 8 years of total experience. Thank you

I am a BA and upcoming product manager and is there a platform where I can learn a lot about product management

You can check out content and webinars from the theproductfolks, its a great way to start learning about product management

1 pager if experience< 10 years.

If you have worked with 3 companies -> 1 Pager. More than 3 -> 2 pager. Make sure companies should be listed in descending order from current company on front page to last company on the 2nd page.

1 pager usually till 5-7 years of experience..don't try anything more before that with exception if you actually have very relevant stuffs to put in without any duplicity or redundancy. Beyond that you can try to go till 1.5 page and beyond.
Honestly I have not seen people caring about resume length. It's the content that matters..if the first 0.3-0.5 of the page is not delivering the value, the TA might not read further and hence the HM will never get your resume
If it's super interesting then they will read 2 pages as well. Don't increase length just for the sake of increasing it
2 pages if you can fill with good content, usually less than 5 years don’t need two page resumes.

I have been into tech hiring for 6 years now all the way from interns to tech architects.
Believe me - less is more. Be precise, concise and honest. 1 pg is good enough. People with 15-18 YOE also fit things in 1 pg.

2 page it is for experience and 1 page for fresher exp<2

Really, is the cutoff so low?

Yes because it needs to be scanned in ATS and for people who exp <2 is 1, and mention only relevant work or exp

It’s more about the relevance and impact of the context than more and irrelevant Content, I would say 1 is Great, 2 is Good, 3 is Not desirable. It’s like if you put “CEO” of Google, than just one liner is sufficient to fetch you a Job..!

1 page per 10 years is a thumb rule you can follow

It takes time to read through the resume and then ask relevant questions, in different rounds different aspects of experience will be asked anyways.
Interviewer gets less time to go through the resume, better keep it crispy precise and showcase/highlight key points only.
One pager is anyday better
