Building a platform, need suggestions

So we are building a service based marketplace and we want to reduce last moment booking cancellations. We are thinking of introducing a booking fee(will be adjusted in the final settlement) sort of thing where the user will need to prepay certain amount of the total booking amount(the same amount will be forfeited in case the customer cancels it-User can reschedule the bookings without any charge)

Will you as a user be comfortable to pay such amount?(note- new platform, service providers will be known industry players.)
