Going to the office just once a week sounds small — but it takes so much out of me.
It’s not the work. It’s the 1-hour traffic, the overstimulation, the social noise, the forced re-entry into a world I quietly outgrew during COVID.
Before 2020, this felt normal. Now, it feels like my energy gets hijacked. Like my mind checks out, and my body just follows.
Yes — it’s nice to reconnect. Yes — it feels good in the moment.
But the next day? I feel completely drained.
And I’ve realized: COVID didn’t break me — it recalibrated me. I found slowness. I found peace. And now, my system just doesn’t tolerate what it used to. And that’s okay.
So now, I’m learning to: • Create quiet rituals around chaotic days • Say no to back-to-back demands • Protect the next day like my energy depends on it — because it does
If you feel this way too: You’re not “weak.” You’re evolving. You’re allowed to need slower, quieter, kinder days.
